Overview:
Product traceability requirements for meeting Food Safety and Quality standards as required by BRC fundamental clause 5.0, SQF item 4.5, 9 CFR will be covered.
The purpose of traceability and its value to the brand will be explored. The resources necessary to achieve an effective result will be presented. A customer perspective on the importance of product traceability from a customer perspective will be shared with the attendees to bring justification for team support of these time consuming exercises. Specific examples of the costs of an expanded vs a targeted recovery. Daily process documentation is key to achieving effective product recovery. A critical component of identity preservation and the result of lack of identity preservation.
Why you should attend: Pathogen and Allergen contamination found by FDA and USDA sampling and customer specification deviations make it important for companies to have a good traceability program. The ideal program will allow the company to quickly and accurately identify the source of raw materials and location of finished products based on customer complaint information. In addition, a detailed investigation of the complaint through documentation review is critical to restoring customer confidence and limiting the scope of affected product. While companies tend to perceive this as simple task, actual results in the event of customer requests for such information often present some unique challenges and unfortunately result in failure to meet customer expectations. Department personnel from each of the involved areas should attend this webinar to understand their role in product traceability. Management Team members will gain valuable insights to bring to the review and annual assessment of the program to drive continuous improvement and efficacy.
